Large Metal and Appliance Collection

There are two separate large item pick-ups scheduled at different times of the month:

  1. Large Trash Pick-Up (https://www.morristwp.com/870/Large-Trash-Items)
  2. Large Metal & Appliance Pick-Up

Please be sure to request the appropriate pick-up based on your items. If you have both types of items, you will need to complete a request form for each pick-up.


Obtaining the Service

Large item collection service is available during the last full week of each month. To schedule a pick-up, you must either:

  1. Call the Department of Public Works at 973-326-7398, or
  2. Submit an Online Request Form.

Important Notes:

  • All requests must be submitted at least one (1) week or more prior to the scheduled collection date.
  • Requests will be processed in the order they are received. The Department of Public Works will make every effort to accommodate all resident requests.

If there are any questions or if your request cannot be accommodated, our office will reach out to you by phone or email with an explanation.

This service will be limited to large appliances, which includes:

  • Refrigerators (remove doors)
  • Hot water heaters / boilers
  • Standup and chest freezers
  • Stoves

Smaller Appliances

All smaller appliances, such as dehumidifiers and room air conditions, and metal items must be dropped off at the Department of Public Works yard on Jane Way Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., or Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Leaf Collection Program Impact

This service will not be available during the annual Leaf Collection Program(November). Please call back after the first Monday in December to schedule a collection.
