Rechargeable Type Batteries

These batteries are accepted at the Department of Public Works Recycling Depot located on Jane Way, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The Municipal building is a second drop-off location for recyclable rechargeable batteries. You are able to drop-off rechargeable type batteries at this location Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Type of Batteries Recycled

  • Button type batteries used in watches and hearing aides
  • Lithium batteries used in cell phones, digital cameras, and computers
  • Ni-Cad batteries used in cordless power tools and cordless house phones

Type of Batteries Not Accepted for Recycling

Alkaline type batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, and 9 Volt) made after 1994 are not considered hazardous waste. Please dispose of these type batteries in with your garbage.
