Junior Police Academy

The Morris Township, Morris Plains, and Morristown Police Departments are extremely excited to bring the children of our community the opportunity to participate in our first ever junior police academy. We have collectively put together an incredible program which will be held from July 8, 2013 through July 19, 2013.

The first annual Tri-Morris Junior Police Academy is being offered to graduating eighth graders only. It will be a comprehensive two week camp that will include numerous agencies working together to educate and familiarize the junior recruits with the inner workings of our departments and the criminal justice system. The application can be downloaded below. It needs to be completed and returned by April 1st, 2013 for consideration. The cost to attend the academy will be $100. We are only accepting a limited number of recruits and slots will be given out on a first come/first serve basis. The prospective recruit must maintain a "B" average from the 2nd marking period on.

Applications for the Junior Police Academy can be mailed to:
ATTN: Tri-Morris Junior Police Academy
49 Woodland Avenue

Upon your child's acceptance, a packet will be mailed to the address provided on his/her application and will need to be returned, along with payment, no later than May 15th, 2013. For those families who are in need of financial assistance in order to attend, you will have the opportunity to complete the grant request.
