LEGAL NOTICE

TOWNSHIP OF MORRIS

PLANNING BOARD

MORRIS COUNTY, NEW JERSEY

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Planning Board of the Township of Morris held its reorganization and regular meeting on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 7:00 P.M. in the Municipal Building, 50 Woodland Avenue, Convent Station, New Jersey, and took the following action:

 

RE-ORGANIZATION MEETING

 

Elected Chairperson – Richard Bye

Elected Vice-Chairperson – Joseph Alesso

Appointed Board Secretary – Ryan Kurpat

 

Adopted formal resolutions in full accordance with the provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq., without competitive bidding, appointing the following professionals:

 

STEVEN K. WARNER, ESQ. - Legal Counsel

ELIZABETH LEHENY, AICP/PP - Planning Consultant

JOSEPH VUICH, PE, PP, CME - Engineering Consultant

JOHN JAHR, PTP, TSOS - Traffic Consultant

 

Adopted formal resolution designating the Daily Record as the official paper of the Planning Board and Morris News Bee as the alternate newspaper for 2026.

 

Adopted the following formal resolution setting meeting dates for 2026, and January 2027: 

 

NOTICE OF SCHEDULED MEETINGS

FOR THE YEAR 2026 AND JANUARY 2027

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Board of the Township of Morris, County of Morris, State of New Jersey, will meet to consider and act upon public business at 7:00 P.M., prevailing time, on each of the dates set forth below, for the year 2026 including January 2027, in the Municipal Building, 50 Woodland Avenue, Township of Morris, New Jersey.

 

January 12th, 2026

February 2nd   

March 2nd and March 16th   

April 6th and April 20th      

May 4th 

June 1st and June 15th    

July 20th    

August 17th    

September 14th 

October 5th and October 19th          

November 16th     

       December 7th    

January 11th, 2027

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that additional meeting, if required, will be at the call of the Chairman with the proper notification, and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary is authorized and directed to:

 

a.)        Post said meeting schedule and maintain the same posted throughout the year 2026 on the bulletin board in the Municipal Building of the Township of Morris on

Woodland Avenue;  

    

b.)        Mail a copy to the Morris County Daily Record and the Morris News Bee.

 

NOTICE Pursuant to the provisions of P.L. 2025, c.72, all legal notices required by law for the Township of Morris including notices from the Township Committee, Planning Board, Board of Health, Environmental Commission, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board, and all other Boards and Committees, will be published on the Township’s official website starting March 1, 2026. REGULAR MEETING

 

PB-14-25, Morris School District, Block 901, Lot 3, 10 Jane Way, OSGU zone.  Courtesy Review.  Public hearing held and closed.  Applicant was granted approval for a courtesy review for the construction of a synthetic turf field.  The Board attorney is authorized to prepare a formal resolution same to be presented at the February 2, 2026 Board meeting.

 

PB-10-25, Nielson Ford of Morristown, Block 10201, Lots 5, 9, 11, & 12, 170 Ridgedale Avenue, I-21 Industrial zone.  Public hearing held and carried. Application carried to the February 2, 2026, Board meeting without further notice. 

 

PB-15-25, Morristown Motors, Inc., Block 10104, Lots 6 & 7, 169 and 171 Ridgedale Avenue, I-21 Industrial zone.   Public hearing held and closed. The applicant was granted the amended site plan with a variance for a side yard setback to install a generator pad, an electric vehicle charging pad, and a transformer pad. The Board attorney is authorized to prepare a resolution to be presented at the next Board meeting.

 

All maps and exhibits related to these matters and submitted as part of these applications are deemed to be public record and may be inspected in the office of the Planning Board, Engineering Department, located at 50 Woodland Avenue, Convent Station, NJ, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
