NOTICE OF ORDINANCE INTRODUCTION
The ordinance published herewith was introduced and passed upon first reading at a meeting of the Governing Body of the Township of Morris, a municipal corporation of the State of New Jersey (the “Township”), that was held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 (in-person and via ZOOM). It will be further considered for final passage, after public hearing thereon, at a regular meeting of the Governing Body to be held at the Municipal Building (in-person and as a courtesy via ZOOM) on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 7:00 pm. ORDINANCE NO. 02-26
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MORRIS AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF MORRIS AND THE MORRISTOWN WILDCATS FOOTBALL CLUB
WHEREAS the Township of Morris (the “Township”) is the owner of that certain property known the Field House at Cornine Field (the “Property”); and
WHEREAS the Morristown Wildcats Football Club (the “Association”) desires to lease the Property from the Township; and
WHEREAS the Township Committee of the Township of Morris (the “Committee”) believes it is in the best interest of the Township to enter into a lease agreement with the Association for the Property; and
WHEREAS the Committee desires to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute the lease agreement in a manner substantially similar to that set forth herein as Exhibit “A”; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Committee of the Township of Morris as follows:
SECTION ONE:
The Mayor and Township Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Lease Agreement based upon the terms and conditions set forth herein and, in a manner, substantially similar to the one attached hereto as Exhibit “A”.
SECTION TWO:
If any portion of this ordinance shall be deemed invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder shall survive in full force and effect.
SECTION THREE:
All Ordinances of the Township of Morris which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SECTION FOUR:
This Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication thereof, as provided for by law.
