Joining the Morris Township Fire Department as a 

The Morris Township Fire Department operates five fire stations covering 15.7 square miles.  We protect and preserve the life and property of the residents of Morris Township and provide aid to neighboring towns.  Our combination career and volunteer department runs an average of 1,500 calls per year consisting of fire alarms, hazardous material incidents, medical emergencies, manmade and natural disasters and structure fires. 

The Morris Township Fire Department provides equal opportunity to all its firefighters.  To become a member of the Department you must meet the following qualifications:

• Be a citizen of the United States

• Be 18 years of age or older (14 years of age to qualify for the Junior Firefighter Program).
• A resident of Morris Township or live within one mile of the Township's boundary. 

• In good health sufficient to satisfy the Township Physician and the Executive Board of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association.

• Be able to read, write and speak English.

• Of good moral character and have not been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
