GIS Mapping – Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure

The Township of Morris Engineering Department would like to advise residents that the project to complete GIS mapping of the Townships’ Sanitary Sewer System is scheduled to begin on December 17, 2018. Surveyors will be in the field to locate and inspect the Township’s existing sanitary sewer main. This survey work will be completed by personnel from the Township’s consultant on the project, and may require surveying on individual properties where there are existing sanitary sewer easements and associated infrastructure. There is no need for residents to be present or available during completion of the field surveying. The survey mapping will only include Township sanitary sewer mains and not individual house sewer connections. The purpose of the mapping is to provide a complete and updated assessment of the entire sanitary sewer infrastructure. The resulting electronic mapping will enable the Township to better assess the operation of the system, it’s maintenance, and long term planning of capital improvement to the sewer facilities.

  • Survey work will be performed during the day, generally between the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM
  • The consulting firm of Mott MacDonald will provide the survey crews
  • Survey mapping is expected to take approximately 4 months to complete

  • Questions may be directed to the Township Engineering Department at 973-326-7440
